FAMILY & CAREGIVER ONLINE EVENT with Janene Ping and Lisa Pitillo

How do we nurture our children's humanity while teaching them to live in a digital age? As with all aspects of development, each age of childhood requires an approach that meets our children where they are developmentally.

Join us for a conversation focused on how educators and parents can work together to support a child's healthy development while providing them the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the world as it is today. We will present current research as well as practical ideas for a healthy family culture, how to partner with your child’s educational environment, and how to advocate for your child—whether they attend a Waldorf school, public school, or another setting.

These events are all live, so please note the date and time of the events you sign up for. Wednesday, February 3, 2027 at 3:30pm HT / 5:30pm PT / 6:30pm MT / 7:30pm CT / 8:30pm ET. The event will run for one hour and fifteen minutes. All who register will receive access to the recording.

Janene Ping (she/her), a Waldorf kindergarten teacher for over 35 years, is the founder of the Magical Puppet Tree Theater and president of the World Association of Puppetry and Storytelling Arts. She is a core faculty member at Sophia's Hearth Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Education Center in Keene, New Hampshire. A passionate advocate for children's rights, Janene currently lives and works in the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School Community in upstate New York.

Lisa Pitillo (she/her) has been a Waldorf Early childhood educator for over 20 years. She lives in Baltimore, MD and is currently a nursery teacher at the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School and a Regional Representative for WECAN. Lisa is a strong advocate for healthy childhood through awareness of the effects of digital media on child development. She is currently a core member of the WECAN Digital Media Working Group.
