Nurturing Childhood in the Digital Age - February 22 & 23, 2027
WECAN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENT
An event for Waldorf early childhood educators exploring how to support children and families in a rapidly changing media landscape. Together, we will consider current research, foundational developmental principles, and the role of the educational environment in nurturing healthy childhood development.
Part 1: Understanding Media & Childhood - An overview of child development and the framework of media maturity, as well as age-related considerations for early childhood and beyond.
Part 2: Bringing It Into Practice - What support do we need as teachers? What challenges do we face when communicating what we have learned to colleagues and parents? How can we talk about this concern in a supportive and welcoming way? How can we foster clear and compassionate conversations with colleagues and parents? Such discussions bridge challenges and inspire a creative culture.
